Default why does my mix sound bad on FM radio?

mastered with sonitus MB, with some wavelab for peak and dither, it sounds great on playback on every one of my systems, in the car, home stereo...i gave a trial-mastered redbook format cd to the band, to take to the radio station for an interview...and when they featured one of these tracks on the radio, it sounded awful. just terrible. it sounded as if it had been completely compressed to the point where there was no definition on the drums, the voice disappeared, and the sibilence on the overheads........

Please help.

I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
